Supporting Your Work

In-person library classes:

Helping students build excellent information skills is one important way we support student learning at NAIT. We teach face-to-face library sessions on a range of topics, and are happy to come into your class and work with your students.
We tailor our library sessions to the assignment your students are working on, and work with you to ensure that the content of our classes supports the learning objectives of your course.

Here are descriptions of the classes we commonly teach. If you'd like us to work with your class on a specific topic that you don't see listed, just get in touch - we're always open to something new.

Use our online booking form to book a session.

Online classes:

If you teach a distance class, or would like some extra, online content for your face-to-face classes, we have a series of self-paced, online library classes that students can work through to improve their information skills.

We've moved way beyond books and offer a wide range of technology that can be loaned by staff and students. From cameras to Epson projectors to virtual reality headsets, explore all of our loanable technology.

We purchase print copies and electronic access to codes and standards to support programs at NAIT.

The library’s most popular online codes and standards can be accessed from this guide:

To find other codes and standards, search the Library Search Tool with the document title (e.g. Alberta Fire Code, CSA W117.2).

Supporting Your Students

  • Program Resource Guides - Every program at NAIT has its own resource guide that will help students get started with their research.
  • Toolkit - We have created a collection of worksheets, assignments, class presentations, and online learning activities to provide extra practice for your students both in-class or at home.
  • Subject Librarian Appointments - Encourage your students to book an appointment if they need some extra support on their assignments

We work to provide students with the tools and information they need to be successful. Our favourite way to accomplish this is to partner with instructors - to work closely with you in order to ensure we are providing your students with the resources that best support their learning.
