LIB101 - Library Resources: Library Website

This online class goes through the library website & services, and the library search tool. You can navigate between these two sections using the tabs above (Library Website and Library Search Tool), and internally within sections using the Table of Contents linked along the left side of each page.

Library Website

The library website provides:

  • A gateway to a wide variety of information sources and library services.
  • Access to research tips.
  • A great place to get expert help.

You can find us at

Program Resource Guides

The program resource guides provide information, tips, and resources related specifically to your program of study at NAIT. They are particularly helpful as starting points when beginning your research. Look for the Resources for Your Program tab on the library website.

Find your program in the list of research guides. Got it? Click through and explore the resource tabs.

Interlibrary Loan & The Alberta Library (TAL)

As a NAIT student, you can request that the library borrow materials from other libraries for your use. We'll bring books from another library, and we'll request articles from magazines, journals, etc. that we don't have direct access to ourselves. Charges applied by the lending library will be passed on to you.

The timeline for bringing in an interlibrary loan can be anything from days to weeks, so starting your research early helps ensure you get access to the articles you need.

Visit our Interlibrary Loan page to find out more.

If you're in a hurry for a physical book, you can get a TAL (The Alberta Library) card from NAIT and use it to borrow books directly from participating TAL libraries such as the University of Alberta, MacEwan University, and the Edmonton Public Library.

Tips & Tutorials

The library has research tips, video walk-throughs, and interactive tutorials you can use to develop your search and research skills.

Find guides, tips, and tutorials under Student Help at the top of the library website. Feel free to click around in the page below. What do you need more information on today?
